Offense Continues To Struggle Against Toros

Lindsay Emmel tossed two innings of one-hit relief on Sunday
CARSON, Calif-  The Sonoma State softball team's run scoring troubles reared their head again on Sunday as Cal State Dominguez Hills won 7-0 to take a three games to one series win.  It was the second straight shutout for the Toros as they improve to 5-5, 3-1 CCAA.  The Seawolves fall to 3-6, 1-3 CCAA.

Sonoma State came up with five hits, but they left eight runners on base.  Two of the hits, including the Seawolves' only extra-base hit (a double), came off the bat of Janelle ArnoldBrittany Reynolds picked up the loss after allowing three earned runs (five total) in two innings.  Lindsay Emmel and Brittany Williams each pitched two innings as well.

Emiley McEwen led the Toros with two triples.  Regina Farfan went the distance for the Toros, earning the win while striking out two and walking two.

The Seawolves will now face Humboldt State in a four-game series in Arcata before finally opening their home schedule on February 24th against Notre Dame de Namur.
