ROHNERT PARK, Calif-  Sonoma State overcame an early deficit to knock off Chico State 6-3 on Saturday afternoon at the Seawolf Invitational in Rohnert Park.  The Seawolves win their third straight to improve to 11-12 on the season.  The Wildcats drop to 7-19.

The Wildcats jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first, knocking Sonoma starter Brittany Reynolds from the game.  Rachel Faaila had the big hit for the Wildcats with a two-run double.  The Seawolves turned to Brittany Williams to get them out of the jam, which she did by inducing a Charlotte Honciano pop out.

The Seawolves rallied back in the bottom of the frame to draw within one.  Simone Brandalise doubled in a run, then came around to steal home on a successful double steal.

Sonoma tied it at three in the fourth when pinch runner Nikki Jaime scampered home after an error by the Chico catcher.

The winning runs came in the fifth inning as the Seawolves pushed across three runs.  The first two came as a result of an error by Chico's shortstop and the last being driven in on a Brittany Martinez RBI single.

Brittany Williams got the win after allowing three hits and no runs over 4 2/3 innings.  Lindsay Emmel came in to get the save with 1 2/3 innings of hitless relief.  Chico's Lauren Walker was tagged with the loss.

Janelle Arnold led the Seawolves with two hits in the game.

The Seawolves conclude Saturday's action against Grand Canyon.
