Softball Splits Sunday Twinbill With Otters

Kayla Ledford had four hits and four RBIs in Sunday's game two win
SEASIDE, Calif-  For the second consecutive day, the Sonoma State softball team split a doubleheader with host Cal State Monterey Bay.  On Sunday, the Seawolves lost 12-3 before coming back for an 11-8 win in nightcap to push their record to 20-16, 11-12 CCAA.  The Otters are now 18-20-1, 12-8 CCAA. 

In game one, the Otters jumped on the Seawolves early and often, securing a 10-0 lead after three innings.  The Seawolves would score three in the fourth, only to see the Otters score twice in the bottom of the inning, ending the contest after five innings. 

Nicole Cordova had two hits to lead the Seawolves.  Lindsay Emmel and Brittany Reynolds# teamed up in the pitching circle for Sonoma.

In game two, the Seawolves got a tremendous performance from Kayla Ledford to roll to an 11-8 win.  Ledford went 4-for-4 with a home run and four runs batted in.  Brittany Reynolds went the distance for the Seawolves, allowing 12 hits and striking out four in seven innings of work.

The Seawolves return to action on Tuesday when they host Cal State East Bay in the makeup of a doubleheader that was rained out last month.
