The Matadors scored early and often against the Seawolves, as Sonoma was unable to combat the Matadors explosive offense.

After a Laurel Stricklin goal with 4:43 remaining in the first quarter, the Matadors went on a 7-0 run that spanned into the third quarter.

Tara McGinley netted three goals during the run, and teammates Jessica Coy, Alison Pierce, and Sydney Sonoda also chipped in on the goal parade.

The Seawolves were paced by Stricklin with two goals, and Courtney Rider and Sarah Watt each netted one goal.

In game two, the Seawolves looked destined to bounce back, as Sonoma State sprinted out to a 5-0 lead over Cal State San Bernardino after one quarter of play.

Five different Seawovles were part of the flurry, including Samantha Mullins, Stricklin, Jackie Snyder, Watt, and Andrea Brookbank.

The Coyotes would get one back in the second quarter, as Kaitlin Hartman the first of five goals for her in the game.

The second half was all Cal State San Bernardino, as the Coyotes outscored the Seawolves 7-2 over the final eight minutes to narrowly hold on for their first victory of the year against Sonoma State.
