Sonoma State Outlasted By Central Washington, 2-1

Lindsay Emmel and the Seawolves Tournament ended Sunday afternoon
TURLOCK, Calif- Lindsay Emmel was the tough luck loser for the Sonoma State softball team Sunday afternoon at Tournament of Champions hosted by Cal State Stanislaus, as the Seawolves were outlasted by Wildcats 2-1 in extra innings. Sonoma finished tournament play with an even 3-3 record, and fall to 25-19 overall.

For the second consecutive game the Seawolf bats were quieted by a strong starting pitching performance from the opposition, as Sonoma managed just four hits on the day. The Wildcats Linse Vlahovich went eight innings, scattering four hits, and striking out seven.

The Seawolves lone run was scored in the top of the first on a sacrifice fly to right field that scored Janelle Arnold from third.

Three innings would go by before Central Washington answered in the fourth, as Holly Rossman hit a towering home run to left field, her sixth of the year.

The game would remain tied until the bottom of the eighth, when the Wildcats secured the extra inning victory on a Danielle Monson single to center that scored Jackie Hawkins.

The Seawolves will return to action on Apr. 7 against Chaminade.
