ROHNERT PARK, Calif- After seeing last weekend's four-game series against Cal State L.A. cancelled due to rain, the Seawolves will finally get a chance to face the Golden Eagles when the CCAA Championship Tournament opens on Thursday in Palm Springs.
The Seawolves and Golden Eagles will play the 7:00 pm game. The first match up of the double elimination event features No. 1 UC San Diego and No. 4 Cal State Dominguez Hills.
Sonoma State will be trying for their third consecutive conference championship. Over the past two seasons, the Seawolves are 7-1 in the CCAA Tournament and all-time, Sonoma has won five titles and holds a 19-7 record.
Cal State L.A. will be making their first appearance in the CCAA Championship Tournament since 2007. The Golden Eagles picked up the third seed after finishing a game behind the Seawolves at 21-11 in conference play. CSULA is 31-15 overall.
All of the Seawolves' games from the CCAA Championship Tournament will be broadcast on the Seawolf Sports Network.
