Seawolves Set Personal Records At SSU Invitational

The Seawolves had outstanding performances at the SSU Invite.

SANTA ROSA, Calif- Hosting its first ever Sonoma State Invitational, the Sonoma State women's cross country team finished nine runners in the top 10 as the Seawolves completed a successful morning on the three-mile course at Spring Lake Park in Santa Rosa on Saturday morning. Katie Bolce ran a seasons-best race, crossing the line at 18:31.

Bolce, who averaged 6:10.4 in each mile, came in 23 seconds ahead of Carly McCready (18:54), the second place finisher. Rachel Borg (18:58), Sablle Scheppmann (19:01) and Ashley Holtze (19:02) placed in the top five, helping the Seawolves to a season low 15 points as a team.

Hayley Sa (19:27), Sammy Thomas (19:33), Kaitlyn O'Connor (19:48), and Lyndsi Riley (19:49) all finished in the top ten. Meaghan O'Day (20:29), Jackie Kemp (20:36), Noelle Erosa (21:00), Veronica Kays (21:13), Laura Paneno (21:15), Debra Daubenspeck (21:25), Heather Toheroh (22:14) and Kerstin Bree (22:28) all finished for Sonoma State on Saturday.

All 17 runners for the Seawolves posted seasons-best times, marking one of the best races in Seawolf history.

Cal State Monterey Bay finished second with 57 points, Mills College came in at third (79) and Dominican University finished fourth (102).

Sonoma State will travel to San Francisco on Friday to run in the San Francisco State Invitational at 4 p.m.
