With 15 minutes gone by in the final period, Cal State Stanislaus was holding Sonoma State to just nine points while netting just 14 points of their own. It was part of a 12-0 run by the Warriors, but the Seawolves, who came into this weekend as the CCAA's best shooting team, staved off a furious comeback attempt. Cal State Stanislaus got to within five points, 53-48, with five minutes remaining, but it would be as close as they would get.
Ben Washington complemented Pratt's season-high 25-point output with 16 points on 5 of 8 shooting. Pratt had a team-high eight rebounds in the victory as well. In what turned out to be a second half full of turnovers, Sonoma State was able to capitalize on the Warriors' miscues, outscoring Cal State Stanislaus 23-8 in points off turnovers. However, it was SSU that led in the mistake department, narrowly (17-16).
For Cal State Stanislaus, Dwight Jones (15) and Evan Scott (11) scored in double-figures while Reggie Jones brought down a game-high 10 rebounds.
Sonoma State will now turn its sights to the road for four of its last six games of the regular season, beginning with a stop at Cal State San Bernardino on Friday. Tipoff from Coussoulis Arena in San Bernardino is set for 7:30 p.m.
