LOS ANGELES- Several hours after suffering a 13-4 defeat to Princeton, the Sonoma State women's water polo team bounced back for a dominating 10-3 win over Whittier on Saturday at the Burns Recreation and Aquatics Center in Los Angeles. With Saturday's split, the Seawolves move to 6-22 this season.

Sonoma State fell behind early, surrendering three goals in the opening four minutes of the match.
Bridgette Souza would get the Seawolves onto the scoreboard at the 3:45 mark, but the Tigers, ranked 18th in this week's Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Top 20 Poll, went on to outscore SSU 4-0 before the half to lead 7-1.
Kelsey Lowy opened the second half with a score to close the Princeton lead to five points at 7-2, but the Tigers went on a 5-0 run and cruised the rest of the way, despite to late goals by Souza, taking the 13-4 win.
Taylor Basso got the start in the cage for Sonoma State, make four saves in the first period.
Kelsey Goode came in to play the final three quarters, making five saves.
Sonoma State 10, Whitter 3
Just as Princeton did to Sonoma State in the first game of the day, Sonoma State did to Whitter in the afternoon.

Malina Lorring and Souza gave the Seawolves a comfortable 3-0 lead in the first period before Whittier got one back at the 2:57 mark of the opening frame. Neither team would score in the second period.
Lindsay Rangel, Lowy and Lorring put Sonoma State up 6-1 before another goal by the Poets would close the gap to 6-2. However, the Seawolves, looking for their first victory of the weekend, outscored Whittier 4-1 the rest of the way to grab the 10-3 win, snapping a four-match losing streak. Basso made seven saves in the cage for the Seawolves.
Sonoma State will host Santa Clara on Thursday (3 p.m.) at the Dr. G. Edward Rudloff Pool in Rohnert Park before heading to Santa Clara in two weeks to compete in the Bronco Invitational on Apr. 9-10.
