A Lot Riding On This Week's CCAA Championship

REGIONAL RANKINGS
On the virtue of their 3-1 series win over Chico State, Sonoma State jumped three spots in this week's NCAA West Region poll, from No. 6 to No. 3.  The top four teams after this weekend's action will advance to the NCAA West Regional, to be played next weekend at a site to be announced.  With UC San Diego (No. 1) and Western Oregon (No. 2) looking fairly solid, that leaves three teams (Sonoma State, No. 4 Chico State and No. 5 Cal Poly Pomona) playing for the final two spots in the tournament.  The entire west region poll:  1) UC San Diego; 2) Western Oregon; 3) Sonoma State; 4) Chico State; 5) Cal Poly Pomona; 6) Dixie State; 7) Cal State L.A.; 8) Northwest Nazarene.

SUCCESS AT THE CCAA'S
Sonoma State has won more CCAA Tournament titles than any other program since the event's inception in 1999.  Overall, the Seawolves have taken five titles (1999, 2001, 2003, 2007, 2008).  The Seawolves will be making their ninth appearance in the event this season.  They've made the field in three of the last four seasons, despite missing it in 2010.
