ROHNERT PARK --
Behind 12 kills from Ally Sather and 10 more from Caylie Seitz, the Sonoma State women's volleyball team made quick work of visiting Cal Poly Pomona, outhitting the visitors by nearly 200 percentage points (.363-.168) en route to a three-set sweep (25-18, 25-20, 25-15) on Friday night at The Wolves' Den in Rohnert Park.  The Seawolves snap a three-match losing streak, improving to 12-6 overall and 6-4 in the CCAA.  The Broncos, meanwhile, drop below .500 at 8-9 and 4-6 in conference play.

Sather enjoyed her second-most efficient night of the season, hitting at a .500 clip with the aforementioned 12 kills, a match-high, and just one error in 22 attacks.  Seitz chipped in with a .360 night, finding the hardwood 10 times, erring once in 25 swings.  Kelsey Hull was one kill shy of double-digits, adding nine kills, as the three combined for 31 of Sonoma State's 48 kills on Friday night.  The team was just as efficient, sporting a .363 hitting percentage with only seven miscues in 113 attacks.

The Seawolves were just as dominant on the defensive side of the net, recording 60 digs, 23 of which came from Nicole Gragnola, and eight total blocks, including two solo rejections by Madelyn Densberger.  Densberger also had 14 digs to go along with seven kills.  Regan Richert also came up with seven kills and had no errors in 12 tries for a .583 clip.

The match was never in doubt.  Sonoma State blew threw the opening set, torching the Cal Poly Pomona defense for 18 kills in 37 swings with three errors, a .405 hitting percentage.  In fact, the Seawolves scored the match's first four points, then went on to grab an 8-1 lead before forcing a Bronco timeout.  CPP would recover, however, cutting the SSU lead to just four at 21-17, but SSU scored four of the next five points to take a 1-0 match lead.

The second set would prove to be the closest of the night, featuring five ties and three lead changes, but with a small lead of 13-12, Sonoma State would go on a 7-2 run to lead 20-14.  Cal Poly Pomona responded to come within two points at 21-19, but the hosts would again pull away for a 2-0 match lead with a 25-20 win.  The third set ended just as fast as it started, as Sonoma State flexed its muscles on offense and played extraordinary defense, especially from Gragnola, who recorded 12 of her 23 digs in the third set alone.

Cal Poly Pomona was led by the eight kills from Lauren Jones and seven from both Taylr Kreutziger and Jessica Doerner.  Kelly Bonja (12), Diana Lake (11) and Erin Noriega (10) recorded double-digit digs for the Broncos, who successfully defended 48 Seawolf attacks.

Sonoma State will next host Humboldt State on Saturday night, first serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in The Wolves' Den.
