LA JOLLA, Calif.
-- Junior Harmen Sidhu tossed his first complete game on Friday night, allowing just five hits and one run, and the Sonoma State offense backed him up with 16 hits to help defeat -- and eliminate -- Chico State, 5-1, in a loser-out game at the CCAA Baseball Championship Tournament at Triton Ballpark in La Jolla.  The fourth-seeded Seawolves (27-24) advance to Championship Saturday and will take on top-seeded UC San Diego at 12:00 p.m. tomorrow.  The Wildcats, who came into the conference tournament as the No. 2 seed, drop to 37-16 overall and will await their NCAA postseason fate.

SSU will need to win two games on Saturday to capture the tournament title and the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA tournament, but UCSD will need to win just one game to do the same.

Sidhu stymied the entire Chico State lineup from top to bottom, giving up five hits and four walks, with the only run coming across the plate in the Wildcat seventh on an RBI fielder's choice by Shane Kroker.  Sidhu recorded eight strikeouts on the night, three of which came against Wildcat first baseman Eric Angerer.

Meanwhile, the Sonoma State offensive exploded for 16 hits, three from Jeff Johnson and three from Justin Serrao.  In fact, Serrao batted in three runs, two of which proved to be the game-winning runs on his fourth-inning double that brought home Johnson and Jeff Boulware.

Saturday's game(s) will be streamed live on the Seawolf Sports Network, starting at 12:00 p.m.  The live feed can be accessible by clicking here or by going to sonomaseawolves.com/baseball_live.
