CARSON, Calif. --
The Sonoma State women's volleyball team made their way to Carson to meet up with the Toros of Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday.  The Seawolves were able to come away with the win in the Torodome with a 3-1 win (25-20, 21-25, 25-17, 25-16).  24th-ranked Sonoma State improved their record to 10-3, 4-1 CCAA, while Cal State Dominguez Hills drops to 6-7, 4-2 CCAA.

Sonoma State started off the first game in an early 3-1 hole, but quickly turned it around and tied the game at four points apiece.  CSUDH stayed within four points of the Seawolves, before coming from behind to tie the set at 10-10, 11-11, 12-12 and 13-13.  After that it would be all Seawolves, as SSU would be granted five stright points off of CSUDH errors to give Sonoma State the 18-13 advantage.  Both teams would trade points until Kelsey Hull ended the first set with her fourth kill, giving the Seawolves a 1-0 lead in the match.

Set two began with Sonoma State rallying off five straight points to take a 5-0 lead.  Cal State Dominguez Hills got their first point of the set on a Hayley Ross service error, which gave the Toros the momentum to come roaring back, scoring four points in a row, two on Sonoma miscues, to tie the game at 20-20.  Cal State Dominguez Hills would not stop there as they scored the next five out of six points to take the second game 25-21, and tie the match at 1-1.

The Seawolves came out fresh after the break, leading the entire third game from start to finish, en route to a 25-17 win.  Sonoma State got off to an early 7-3 lead, but quickly gave up those points, before SSU head coach Bear Grassl called a time out with a 9-6 lead.  Out of the timeout, Sonoma State was given three consecutive points, all on Toro errors, to put the score at 12-6.  From then on, the Seawolves would not look back as they outscored CSU Dominguez Hills 13-8 to take the third game and the 2-1 match lead.

With the match at stake in game four, both teams kept it close, tying the game six times in the first 12 points.  However, Sonoma State started to gain speed as they knocked off four points in a row to bring the game to a 10-6 SSU lead.  The Seawolf lead would grow to 10 points at 21-11, when a kill by serior Ally Sather smacked the hardwood.  While being outscored 5-4 in the final nine points, Sonoma State was able to close out the game, 25-16, and earn the 3-1 match victory.

The Toros out hit the Seawolves .308 to .171,  in set two to make for a fourth set.  The Seawolves go the last laugh, outhitting the Toros in game four, .400 to .056.  Freshman Caylie Seitz and Sather led the air attack for the Seawolves, each tallying 12 kills, in.  Seitz, however, led the way in average at a cool .360.  Meanwhile, Brooke Moore hit .364 with six kills in 11 attempts.

In an off night for the Toros at the net, Whitney Lee was the bright spot, swatting 13 kills, earning a .417 average.  Elizabeth Krieger smacked 17 kills on 44 attempts, but was ailed by nine errors.

Sonoma State will continue their roadtrip to southern California when they attend the Eagles Nest at Cal State L.A on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
