BOX SCORE No. 23 Sonoma State 3, Seattle Pacific 0 -- Box Score

ROHNERT PARK, Calif. -- For the second time in eight days, the Sonoma State volleyball team took the court against traditional west region power Seattle Pacific.  And for the second time in eight days, the Seawolves would leave the court with a 3-0 win over the Falcons.  This time it was Madelyn Densberger leading the way as the freshman pounded down 14 kills to guide the 23rd-ranked Seawolves to a tidy 25-19, 25-16, 25-19 win.  With the victory, the Seawolves improved to 2-0 at the Seawolf Spike and 5-1 overall on the young season.  The Falcons drop to 2-5.

Though the first set remained close until the end, the Seawolves would lead almost the entire way.  Sonoma would hit .262 in the first set and hold SPU to a .095 clip, setting the tone for the match.  In fact, the Seawolves would stay in the .200s for all three sets and the Falcons would stay below .100.

Seattle Pacific would capture early leads in both the second and third sets, but the Seawolves were able to gain control and then pull away.

Densberger finished the night at .458 (14-3-24).  The Seawolves also got strong offensive performances from Kelsey Hull (7 kills), Caylie Seitz (7 kills), and Ally Sather (6 kills).  Devynne Johnson had five kills and no errors in just eight attempts to lift her season hitting percentage to an unheard of .594.

Devin Shaver and Hayley Ross split setting duties, finishing with 21 and 20 assists, respectively.  Nicole Gragnola was tops on the team with 19 digs.

Cailin Fellows had eight kills to pace the Falcons.

The Seawolves will return to the floor tomorrow at 1:30 pm when they face Central Washington.  Like the Seawolves, the Wildcats are 2-0 at the Seawolf Spike.  The Seawolves will conclude tournament play on Saturday night with a 7:00 match against nationally-ranked Western Washington.
