ROHNERT PARK --
The Sonoma State women's basketball team hit 11 of its first 15 shots en route to a 17-point first-half lead with 3:37 remaining in the opening period, but UC San Diego bounced back to outscore SSU 58-29 over the final 23:23 of the contest to hand the Seawolves (2-11, 1-8 CCAA) their fifth straight loss in a 74-62 decision on Friday night at The Wolves' Den.  The Tritons improve to 9-4 overall and 6-3 in the CCAA.

All told, Sonoma State cooled from a sizzling 73.3 percent from the floor in the first 10 minutes to connect on just 30.8 percent (12-39) the rest of the way.  Meanwhile, UC San Diego struggled to open the ballgame, hitting just 17.7 percent of its shots early on (and 23.5 percent in the first half on 8 of 24 shooting), but the Tritons rebounded to shoot 52.9 percent (18-34) in the final 20 minutes to cruise past the Seawolves, who was just 9 for 25 (36.0 percent) from the floor in said period.

Tanner Adams followed a 22-point performance in her last game to score a team-high 17 points with five three-pointers and four assists.  Bronte Sheahan chipped in with 16 points and three assists and Molly Kommer came off the bench to add 10 points.  As a team, Sonoma still ended with a 42.6 percent efficiency (23-54) in the shot department, whereas UC San Diego was held to 38.2 percent (26-68).  Both teams hit 11 three-pointers.

The Tritons got a game-high effort from Megan Perry, who scored 18 points in 36 minutes, all from beyond the three-point arc.  Both Miranda Seto and Erin Dautremont added 16 points in the UCSD victory.

Sonoma State will look to end its skid on Saturday when Cal State San Bernardino comes to town.  Tipoff between the Seawolves and Coyotes is set for 5:30 pm at The Wolves' Den.
