BOX SCORE Sonoma State 86, Cal State East Bay 77 -- Box Score
ROHNERT PARK -- Five players, including a team-high 19 points from
Justin Herold, scored in double figures and the Sonoma State men's basketball team ended the 2013-14 campaign on a winning note, defeating Cal State East Bay 86-77 on Senior Night at The Wolves' Den in Rohnert Park. The Seawolves finish with a 7-19 overall record with a 6-16 mark in CCAA play while the Pioneers complete their year at 7-21 (4-18 CCAA).
Cal State East Bay forced two ties, but Sonoma State led for 39 minutes of the 40-minute affair, thanks to a solid shooting performance in which the Seawolves connected on a season-high 58.1 percent of their shots (25 for 43), including 5 of 12 from three-point range. Sonoma also scored 31 points from the free throw line, 19 of which coming in the second half.
While the Pioneers never led in the contest, they kept things close. Trailing by 13 points at 75-62 with 5:27 left in the contest, CSUEB went on a 12-1 run over the next three minutes to pull within three points, but SSU hit its free throws down the stretch to earn the nine-point victory.
Herold led the way with 19 points followed by 15 from
