TURLOCK, Calif. --
After shutting out Western Washington, 6-0, in the semifinal, the Sonoma State softball team fell just one victory short of capturing its second Tournament of Champions title in the 13-year history of the event after suffering a 4-0 loss to eighth-ranked Humboldt State on Sunday afternoon at Pedretti Regional Sports Complex in Turlock.  The Seawolves (30-12) also saw their 14-game win streak snapped in the loss to the Lumberjacks, but will head into the final three weeks of the regular season having won 20 of their last 23 games.

Megan Konieczka, Keisi Chinen and Amanda Llerena were named to the TOC All-Tournament Team following Sunday's action -- Konieczka went 12 for 25 (.480) with three home runs, seven RBI and seven runs scored, Chinen went 8 for 15 (.533) with seven walks, two home runs, four RBI and three runs scored and Llerena finished the tournament with a 3-0 record in the pitching circle, sporting a 1.33 ERA, allowing 18 hits, seven runs (four earned) and five walks to go along with 27 strikeouts in 21 innings of work.

As a team, the Seawolves led the tournament in batting average (.372), slugging percentage (.479), on base percentage (.431), hits (70) and total bases (90).

Sonoma State will jump back into CCAA action on Friday and Saturday when it hosts a familiar foe in Humboldt State in what will be the final four home games for SSU this season.  Friday's doubleheader will begin at 1:00 pm then the Seawolves and Lumberjacks wrap up the series with two games on Senior Day Saturday, starting at 11:00 am.
