Sonoma Advances To Championship Sunday At CCAA Tournament

The Seawolves are headed to Championship Sunday at the CCAA tournament in Stockton!
BOX SCORE 1 | BOX SCORE 2 #6 Humboldt State 7, Sonoma State 5 (8 innings) -- Box Score
Sonoma State 9, #3 Cal State Monterey Bay 5 -- Box Score

STOCKTON, Calif. --
After suffering a heartbreaking 7-5 loss on a walkoff home run by Humboldt State in extra innings on Saturday afternoon, the Sonoma State softball team will get its chance at revenge after coming from behind to eliminate top-seeded Cal State Monterey Bay, 9-5, late Saturday night at the CCAA Softball Championships in Stockton.

With the victory over the Otters (45-9), the fourth-seeded Seawolves (37-20) advance to Championship Sunday to take on the No. 2 seed (and sixth-nationally-ranked) Lumberjacks at Noon, but SSU will need to defeat HSU twice on Sunday in the double-elimination format to capture the tournament banner for the third time in five seasons.
