ROHNERT PARK, Calif. – The Seawolves won their home exhibition match against the Pioneers of Pacific Union College 84-49.
Helping Sonoma State to their victory was
Kylie Kiech with team highs of 19 points and nine rebounds,
Carly Gill with 12 points and seven rebounds, six of which were defensive, and
Kim Savio with ten points.
Jessica Mitz contributed 5 assists, respectively. Three Seawolves, Kiech
Kayla Coloyan, and Gill were two for five from beyond the arch and the team shot 84% from the free throw line.
The first quarter was tight between the Seawolves and Pioneers ending 19-14. However, in the second quarter Sonoma outscored their opponent 25-4.
For the rest of the exhibition game the Pioneers scored more closely to the Seawolves 22-16 and 18-15 in the second half, but the damage was done. At the 7:21 mark of the fourth quarter the Seawolves were ahead by 39 points.
Sonoma State will head to the CCAA/PacWest Challenge and play host Notre Dame De Namur at 3 pm in Belmont, CA.
