Alvarado, North Earn All-Region Accolades

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Sonoma State University seniors Eric Alvarado and Mitch North were named to the 2017 United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Men's All-West Region Third Team, it was announced Tuesday.

The two All-Region honorees were the Seawolves' All-CCAA Second Team award winners this season. With the nomination, Alvarado reels in All-Region honors for the second straight year, earning the NSCAA, and Daktronics/CCA All-West accolades in 2016. The All-Region honor marks North's first.

Alvarado—who started every game for Sonoma State in 2017—co-led the Seawolves in goals with four, matching a career-high, while ranking second on the team in points (8).

North earns the All-Region honor on the back of a campaign that saw the senior post the second-best save percentage in the CCAA, while ranking 32nd in the nation in total saves. The senior finished his final collegiate season with a 7-7-2 record through 16 games, while posting three shutouts on the season.
