Annika Erickson (4) notched seven of the Seawolves eight goals in today's 13-8 non-conference loss to Santa Clara University.
The Seawolves are now 0-4 on the season.
Erickson struck first giving the Seawolves an early 1-0 lead over the Broncos. With less than 3: minutes remaining in the first quarter, Santa Clara strung together a pair of goals to claim a 2-1 advantage over the Seawolves.
Two minutes into the second period the Broncos scored another pair to double its lead 4-1. The Seawolves Erickson and Williams found the back of the net with two minutes left in the half to close the gap 4-3, answered by a goal by the Broncos with .17 seconds counting down on the clock.
The Seawolves defense held Santa Clara to two goals in the third quarter then attacked early in the final quarter (Erickson) for a 7-4 score. The Broncos found the back of the net five times before Williams (assisted by
Amanda Weddle) and Weddle (assisted by Williams) cut Santa Clara's lead to 12-6.
With the clock running down, less than a minute on the board the Broncos found the net for the last time. Under .40 seconds to go both Williams and Erickson extended the Seawolves score 13-8.
