Rohnert Park, Calif. – In a slow scoring game, one of the lowest scoring games this season saw the Seawolves fell 7-5 to Cal State East Bay despite being tied 4-4 at the half.Â

In its final home game of the season, the Seawolves acknowledged its three seniors
Amanda Weddle,
Taylor Brooks, and
Kelly Failner. Over Weddles her collegiate career she scored 27 goals and added 33 assists for a total of 60 points. Last month Brooks helped the Seawolves defeat Division I opponent La Salle at the convergence tournament with a pair of goals. Over the past four-year Kelly has recorded 50 assists, 30 steals and drawn 22 exclusions.

Hailey Gellert scored the first goal of the game with 2:15 left in the opening half, then with just over a minute on the clock the Pioneers tied the game 1-1.

Cal State East Bay took hold of a 3-1 lead with back to back goals to open the second quarter. At the four-minute mark
Jordan Williams her first goal of the game to cut the Pioneers lead to 3-2. Less than a minute apart East Bay added to its lead 4-2, and the Seawolves
Camille Grace found the back of the cage. With 22 seconds left in the first half, Brooks tied the game 4-4.

In a battle between defenses, the Pioneers shut out the Seawolves in the third quarter, while Sonoma State allowed one goal against them.

With a 5-4 lead, the Pioneers added a sixth goal at 5:03, answered by a Williams second goal of the day (6-5). Cal State East Bay added one more before the final horn for a 7-5 final score.
