Seawolves Split Weekend at Home

Rohnert Park, Calif. – Sonoma State hosted its second game of the weekend Sunday morning when they faced No. 12 UC San Diego. The Seawolves split the weekend with a 14-13 win over Sunbirds and a 20-7 loss to the No. 12 Tritons.
 
The Seawolves are now 7-12 overall and 2-3 in the WWPA.
 
Sonoma State cute the Tritons early 2-0 lead in half when Annika Erickson found the back of the cage at 4:59 (2-1). UC San Diego then added another pair of goals before the first quarter crawled to an end (4-1).
 
The Tritons added four more goals before Erickson recorded her second goal of the game (8-2). With :47 left in the first half Jordan Williams found the net to cut the deficit to 9-3. 
 
The Seawolves could scratch a goal in the third as the Tritons tallied three more to its lead (12-3).
 
Taylor Brooks added a fourth run for the Seawolves with an assist from Hailey Gellert at 4:27, then Gellert recorded a goal of her own at 3:18 (16-5). With less than two minutes remaining in the game, Madelyn Potts (assisted by Williams) and Erickson (assisted by Weddle) added to the final score of 20-7.
