SANTA ROSA, Calif. – The Sonoma State women's golf team continued their fantastic start to the fall season with a 2
nd place finish at their home tournament. The Seawolves, fresh off a win at the 54 for XI last week tied with Hawaii Pacific and Cal State Monterey Bay in the 10-team field.
All five SSU golfers finished in the top-20, led by
Courtney Cervellin's 2
nd place individual finish. Cervellin had a career best finish, shooting 1-under-par in Monday's opening round to tie with three other participants for the lead. She followed it up with a 2-over-par score in Tuesday's final round and finish in sole possession of 2
nd. Cervellin recorded four birdies each round to finish with eight birdies overall, second best in the field.

Talia Gutman and
Lauren Garcia all shot 75 in the opening round to give the Seawolves a 296 overall score and sit in 3
rd place. Hawaii Pacific led the pack with a 293 and Cal State San Marcos finished two strokes behind at 295.
Gutman followed up her 75 with a 2-over-par 74 on Tuesday to tie Cervellin for the best SSU score in round 2. She placed just outside the top-10 in 11
th place with birdies on 16 and 18. Garcia fired back-to-back 75s to place 15
th and reigning CCAA Golfer of the Week Foster finished 17
th.
Brenna Ozel also placed inside the top-20, shooting 76 in each round.
Cal State San Marcos took home the team title by eleven strokes and Madison Murr took home the individual crown with a 5-under-par performance.
The Seawolves close out their fall schedule starting October 22
nd when they head to Hawaii to take part in two tournaments. SSU will open at the HPU Sharks Shootout and finish at the Dennis Rose Invitational, hosted by Hawaii Hilo.
