SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. - On Friday, October 6th, the Sonoma State cross country team stayed in the bay area and competed in the San Francisco State Invitational. The Seawolves had five participants in Friday afternoon's race as the event stood as their final tune-up before the CCAA Championships on October 21st.
Third year member
Abby Ribet led the charge for SSU as she was the team's top finisher with a time of 24:35.4. Her time would go down as a new season best as Ribet shaved off over a minute from her prior 6k time at the Roy Griak Invitational.
Sophie Rodriguez and
Liliana Salado rounded out the top-100. Rodriguez clocked in at 24:46.7, a new season best as well, and Salado at 25:48.3.
Loralye Clements and
Maddy Petersen would record 6k times just over the 26-minute mark. Petersen would also record a new season best, shaving off 20 seconds from her time at the Roy Griak Invitational and this would go down as Clements first 6k event of the season.
LOOKING AHEAD
As a team, Sonoma State finished 13th out of the 15 competing schools. The Seawolves will rest up and compete in the CCAA Championships on Saturday, October 21st. Live stat/result links can be found at sonomaseawolves.com.
