XC: Bomarito Finishes 19th at NCAA Championships and Earns All-American Honors

JOPLIN, MO. - On Saturday, November 18th, Sonoma State's Gianna Bomarito represented the Seawolves as the program's first participant at the NCAA Championships since 2001. Bomarito capped off a stellar cross country season with a 19th place finish and represented the CCAA's top finisher. Her top-20 finish also earned her USTFCCCA All-American honors, just the second All-American in program history.

Bomarito climbed as high as 14th place during the 6k race but would hang on for 19th with a time of 20:28.6, just three tenths off of her own program record of 20:28.3 which she recorded earlier this season at the conference championships.

With her time, Bomarito now holds the fastest 6k mark at the NCAA Championships in program history, shattering the previous record by nearly two minutes. This season, Bomarito also recorded the program's fastest time at the conference championships and the NCAA regional, earning her CCAA Runner of the Year and a USTFCCCA All-Region recipient.

Congratulations to Sonoma State's Gianna Bomarito on an incredible season and being named a 2023 USTFCCCA All-American. Full race results can be found HERE
