ROHNERT PARK, CALIF. - On Wednesday, May 24th, the 2023 NFCA and D2CCA All-American teams were announced. Sonoma State's
Anna Zoia-Buescher was named to the second team for both organizations and became the program's first multiple All-American selection since 2015.
Zoia-Buescher can finally close her trophy case for the 2023 season after being named the CCAA Player of the Year, West Region Player of the Year, and now being named an NFCA/D2CCA second team All-American. She becomes just the 6th All-American in program history and the first since 2015 (Keeley Ray). Both conference and region player of the year awards would also go down as firsts in program history.
Zoia-Buescher would lead the conference and rank 12th in all of Division II with a .466 batting average and went on to lead the entire west region with 76 hits and a .516 on-base percentage. Her .466 average would put her in the record books as she went on to break the single season batting average record held by program great Ancia Purdy.
Congratulations to SSU's
Anna Zoia-Buescher on a historic 2023 season and being named an NFCA and D2CCA Second Team All-American. The complete NFCA All-American teams can be found
