Water Polo Comeback Falls Just Short Vs. Brown

Sara Watt had a couple of goals in SSU's loss to Brown on Wednesday
ROHNERT PARK, Calif-  Sonoma State's last second potential game-tying shot bounced off the cross bar, denying the Seawolves in their comeback bid on Wednesday against Brown University.  The Bears took a 6-5 win to improve to 4-9 on the season.  The Seawolves fall to 11-10.

Down 6-3 heading into the fourth quarter, the Seawolves got goals from Sara Watt and Jenna Bole to pull within one with 1:37 to go.  After denying the Bears, SSU called a timeout with 13 seconds left to set up a final chance to tie the game.  Despite intense defense from Brown, the Seawolves got a shot off, but it was just off line as the buzzer sounded.

Watt led the Seawolves with two goals.  Bole, Laurel Stricklin, and Samantha Mullins also scored for SSU.  Alexis Blaxberg and Sarah Glick each had two goals for the Bears.

The Seawolves will host Hartwick on Saturday at 6:00 pm.
