Softball Knocks Off No. 13 Seattle University

Simone Brandalise earned a win for Sonoma State on Friday
TURLOCK, Calif-  Kayla Ledford had three hits and Simone Brandalise went the distance to defeat the 13th-ranked team in the nation, Seattle University, 9-5 on Friday afternoon at the Mizuno Tournament of Champions in Turlock.  The win gives the Seawolves a split for the day as they improve to 10-19.  The Redhawks fall to 20-5.

The Seawolves busted open a one-run game with four runs in the sixth inning to go up 9-4.  Dani Lopez and Brittany Williams collected RBIs before Nicole Cordova put the nail in the coffin with a two-run single.  Cordova finished the game 2-for-4 and was one of three Seawolves with at least two hits.  Carli Feuerbach had two hits and Kayla Ledford was 3-for-4. 

Simone Brandalise went seven innings, allowing twelve hits and five runs.  She struck out four Redhawks to earn her fourth victory of the season.

The Seawolves will continue play at the Tournament of Champions on Saturday.
