Seawolf Softball Falls To Western Oregon On Sunday

TURLOCK, Calif-  The Sonoma State softball squad was eliminated from the Silver Bracket of the Mizuno Tournament of Champions on Sunday with a 3-0 loss to Western Oregon.  It was the Seawolves' second loss in the tournament to the Wolves as they finish the event with a 2-3 record.  SSU stands at 11-21 overall while WOU improves to 15-12.

The Wolves, who defeated Sonoma State 5-2 on Friday night, got the scoring started in the fourth inning with a single run.  They scored two more for insurance in the sixth, which was more than enough support for starter Jessica Wood.  Wood tossed seven shutout innings and allowed just four hits.

The Seawolves got a double from Dani Lopez and singles from Nicole Cordova, Simone Brandalise, and Kelsey Morhman.

Next up for the Seawolves is a non-conference doubleheader against Chaminade on Tuesday in Rohnert Park.
