Volleyball Ties School Record With Tenth Straight Win

Rikki Buckshnis and Kristy Sather had big nights for the Seawolves
ROHNERT PARK, Calif-  Sonoma State made quick work of Cal State Monterey Bay on Saturday night, sweeping the Otters in three before a crowd of 148 at Seawolf Gym in Rohnert Park.  The win is the tenth straight for the Seawolves, tying a school record set in 2002.  The Sewolves go to 14-1, 6-0 CCAA on the season.  The Otters fall to 4-11, 0-6 CCAA.

After a loss last night by Cal State San Bernardino, the Seawolves are alone in first place in the CCAA with the conference's only perfect record.

The Seawolves breezed by on Saturday with wins of 25-17, 25-16, and 25-12, finishing off the Otters in 1:08.

Rikki Buckshnis was magnificent, posting ten kills and no errors in just 14 attempts for a .714 hitting percentage.  Kristy Sather shared game-high honors with ten kills as well.

As a team, the Seawolves hit .349 for the night (38 kills, eight errors), their highest percentage of the season.

Rayna Richardson paced the Otters with seven kills.  The Otters were held to a hitting percentage of -.010 (27 kills, 28 errors).

The Seawolves will get a true test next weekend when they hit the road to face Cal Poly Pomona and Cal State San Bernardino.
