SANTA CLARA, Calif- The Sonoma State water polo team faced steep competition at the opening day of the Nor-Cal Cup Saturday afternoon, falling to division I Hawaii and No. 5 California by scores of 14-1 and 15-1 respectively.
In the Seawolves opener, the Rainbow Wahine were lead by a group effort that included two goals for six Hawaii players. Sonoma's lone goal came in the third quarter when
Samantha Mullins netted her first goal of the the year.
In Sonoma State's afternoon match, the No. 5 Golden Bears posted five goals in the first two periods to jump out to a commanding 10-0 lead. Again, the Seawolves only goal was scored by
Samantha Mullins in the third quarter.
