Seawolves Lose Two On Last Day Of LMU Invite

The Seawolves dropped two matches on Saturday in Los Angeles.
LOS ANGELES, Calif- After taking the 7-5 lead in the fourth quarter, Sonoma State surrendered three goals in the final 4:54 to lose 8-7 in a nailbiter against Pomona-Pitzer at the Loyola Marymount Invitational at the Burns Recreation and Aquatics Center. The Seawolves also fell to the hosts, Loyola Marymount, to close out the tournament, 13-7. SSU falls to 3-18 overall.

Laurel Stricklin scored her third goal of the match with 5:41 remaining in regulation to give the Seawolves a 7-5 lead. It was short-lived, however, as Pomona Pitzer's Annie Oxborough-Yankus netted the game winner with 2:21 left.

Strickin had three of the seven SSU goals. Lindsay Rangel had two, Holly Armijo and Kelsey Lowy each had a score. Katrina Musco once again made the start in the cage and made five saves.

In Sonoma State's final match of the LMU Invite, the Seawolves took on the ninth-ranked Lions of Loyola Marymount. Armijo led the charge in that 13-7 loss, scoring a team-high three goals, Stricklin had two, Rangel and Emily Pearce each had one.

Sonoma State will return home to take on Santa Clara on Wednesday. First sprint at the Dr. G. Edward Rudloff Pool is scheduled for 3 p.m.
