SANTA CLARA, Calif-  The Seawolves hung with Santa Clara University for three quarters on Friday before falling 9-6 in water polo action in Santa Clara.  Sonoma State drops to 3-13 on the season with the defeat.

Jessica Stansfield and Bridgette Souza each had two goals to pace the Sonoma offense.  Malina Loring and Jamie Bee posted one goal apiece. 

After holding even after one (1-1), the Seawolves trailed 3-2 and 5-4 after the second and third quarters. 

The Seawolves will return to action on Friday in Fresno when they take on Fresno Pacific and Cal Baptist.
