ROHNERT PARK, Calif- The Sonoma State baseball team improved to 3-0 on the season with a doubleheader sweep of Cal State Monterey Bay on Saturday afternoon at Seawolf Diamond. The Seawolves won game one 11-4 before turning around for a 9-4 victory in game two.
The Seawolves are 3-0 to start the season for the tenth consecutive year. The last time they didn't start with three straight wins was 2001.

O'Koyea Dickson had two home runs, including a grand slam, on his way to six runs batted in as the Seawolves rolled to an 11-4 victory in Saturday's opener.
The Seawolves opened up a 3-0 lead in the third when #Kyle Jones hit a sacrifice fly,
Max Kirk scored on an error, and
Garrett Schwartz plated another on a single to left. The Otters would be quick to tie it up in the top of the fourth before the Seawolves went up for good with a four-run fourth of their own. With the bases loaded following an error, a single, and a hit by pitch, Dickson smashed his first home run of the day, a no-doubt-about shot to left center.
Dickson's second round tripper came in the seventh when he took advantage of a 3-0 pitch and drove it over the left field fence.
Leadoff hitter Steven Fillipi scored three runs and Kirk added two. Jones was 2-for-3 and Dickson's final line showed a 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs, and six RBIs.
Kenny Arnerich went five innings to earn the win in his Sonoma State debut. He allowed three runs, four hits, and a walk while striking out five.
Joshua Nervis and
Connor Smith combined to hold the Otters to just one run while striking out seven over the final four.
Jacob Crose was tagged with the loss for the Otters, yielding seven runs in three and a third. Danny Nelson had two hits while Randall Packard and Tony Hernandez each drove in a pair.
Game Two Box: Sonoma State 9, Cal State Monterey Bay 4
The Otters jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning of game two. Their good feelings would soon disappear, though, as the Seawolves rattled off seven runs in the bottom of the frame to take all the momentum on their way to a 9-4 victory.
Down 1-0, the Seawolves wasted little time getting their stroke going as Fillipi opened up the bottom of the first with an infield single. Following a hit by pitch and a walk,
Kyle Jones laced a two-run double to left to put the Seawolves up 2-1.
Following a sacrifice fly and another walk, the Otters made a move to the bullpen, replacing starter Aaron Appino with southpaw Tony Hernandez. While Hernandez would eventually get out of the inning, it would come after a three-run home run by
Cameron Cook and an RBI single by
Kevin Cramer.
The Otters never really challenged in the nightcap, thanks in part to solid pitching by a quartet of Seawolf hurlers.
Kendall Davis got the start, going three and allowing just a single hit and one earned run.
Robby White,
Jacob Fiss, and
Brian Bordagaray went the rest of the way, yielding just two hits and two runs (both unearned) in four innings.
Jones finished the game 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs.
Randy Wells also got in on the act, going 2-for-2 with a walk, a run, a stolen base, and an RBI. Cook led the way with three RBIs, all of which came on his first home run of the season.
The Otters were able to scatter just three hits, though Nelson did reach base three times, all on walks.
