FINAL RESULTS
SUNRIVER, Ore. -- Kyle Listar shot a five-over-par 221 and
Steven Warne carded one stroke more with a six-over-par 222 effort, but the Sonoma State men's golf team finished 20 shots back of team champion Hawai'i-Hilo at this week's 13-team Golfweek Division II Fall Invitational at Crosswater Golf Club in Sunriver, Ore. The Seawolves fired a total of 896 (+32) in the three-round event.
Listar shot rounds of 71, 77 and 73 to edge Warne (72-71-79) by one shot and finish 17th and 18th, respectively.
Brandon Lee came in at a tie for 29th place after bringing in a plus-eight 224 for the week while teammates
Eric Ash (77-80-76) and
Matt Medeiros (77-76-80) tied for 53rd with 233 in 54 holes.
Michael Lee (68-65-72--205) of the Colorado School of Mines ran away with medalist honors at 11-under-par, defeating second-place Alec Dalhquist (210; -6) of Grand Canyon by five shots. Hawai'i-Hilo's Corey Kozuma (211; -5) and Cal State Stanislaus' Rob Damschen (215; -1) and Paul Smith (216; E) all finished even or under par on the par-72, 7,187-yard course.
Hawai'i-Hilo (876; +12), who placed third in last week's WWU Viking Invitational in Bellingham, Wash., held off runner-up Grand Canyon (877; +13) by just one shot and Western Washington, Chico State and Cal State Stanislaus all tied for third with a team score of 878 (+14), one shot back of GCU and two back of UHH.
The Colorado School of Mines (885), Dallas Baptist (889), Indianapolis (889) and Colorado Springs (893) all finished ahead of Sonoma State on the team leaderboard. Saint Martin's (904), Colorado Mesa (910) and Missouri-St. Louis (925) placed 11th through 13th, respectively.
Sonoma State will take a week off before hosting the annual SSU Men's Golf Invitational at Santa Rosa Golf & Country Club in Santa Rosa on Oct. 15-16.
