TURLOCK, Calif. — Sonoma State's efficient offense was too much for the Cal State Stanislaus volleyball team as the 20th-ranked Seawolves won in straight sets Saturday night (25-13, 25-18, 25-17).
Ally Sather had 15 kills and
Madelyn Densberger added 10 more to lead SSU (9-3 overall, 3-1 CCAA) to its 10th straight win over the Warriors. The Warriors, with some mini-runs to stay in each set early, eventually fell for the third consecutive match, 3-0, and dropped to 4-8 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
As a group, Sonoma State's attacking percentage was .380 with Sather at .429 and Densberger at .368.
Nicole Gragnola picked up 16 digs to lead the Seawolves defensively.
Andrea Fett was the bright spot for Stanislaus with her 10th double-digit kill match with 11. She also had her season-best attacking percentage, hitting at a .310 clip (29 attempts, two errors). Fett also added three block-assists and four digs. Janay Bankston chipped in eight kills and Ashley Pittman had 10 digs for the Warriors. Jordan Harris also had three assisted blocks.
Sonoma State will now head south for two matches next weekend, facing Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday (at 7:00 p.m.), then Cal State L.A. on Saturday (at 1:00 p.m.). Following their southern California roadtrip, the Seawolves will visit San Francisco State on Oct. 3 before returning back home to The Wolves' Den on Oct. 5 to host UC San Diego.
