POMONA, HUMBOLDT STATE RECAP:  Sonoma State struggled to get anything going against Cal Poly Pomona, as they shot 25 percent from the field, en route to a 62-48 loss to the Broncos.  Travis Newmen led the team in scoring with nine points, while Elizabeth Day had success rebounding, grabbing 13 boards.  Newman followed up her nine-point effort with 17 more against Humboldt State in a 66-58 loss to the Lumberjacks two nights later.  Day chipped in with 10 points of her own and corralled six more rebounds against HSU in Arcata.

SCOUTING CAL STATE SAN BERNARDINO:  With a 6-8 record overall and a 4-6 mark in CCAA action, the Coyotes of Cal State San Bernardino look to get back to .500 after upcoming road games against Sonoma State and San Francisco State this weekend.  The Coyotes are currently on a three-game losing streak, falling to Chico State, Cal State East Bay and Cal State Monterey Bay.  Although she has only played in six games, Eliza Dy is the leading scorer for the Coyotes, averaging 11.7 points per game.  Trinidee Trice follows closely in scoring, averaging 11.3 points per contest.  As a team, Cal State San Bernardino is scoring 57.4 points per game while holding opponents to 56.8 points per game.  The Coyotes hold a 16-15 edge over the Seawolves in the all-time series; however, Sonoma State has won the last three meetings between the two teams.  CSU San Bernardino is 5-9 all time in The Wolves' Den.

SCOUTING UC SAN DIEGO:  After starting the season as the eighth-ranked team in the country, the Tritons of UC San Diego found themselves outside of the Top 25 after losing to then-ranked No.14 Western Washington.  As of late, the Tritons have won four out of their last five games, including a big 71-65 win over then ninth-ranked Chico State.  Nearing the halfway point of the conference season, UC San Diego sports a 7-3 conference record (9-8 overall).  Daisy Feder leads the CCAA and the team in scoring, dropping an average of 20.1 points per game.  Emily Osga is second on the team in scoring, averaging 12.8 points per game.  Osga is also second in the conference with a 51.3 shooting percentage (80-156) and second in the conference with a 43.3 three-point shooting percentage (29-67).  The Tritons are averaging just over 66 points per game, while holding opponents to 60 points per game.  UC San Diego holds an 18-10 advantage over Sonoma State all-time, including a victory in the last 11 games.  The Tritons swept the season series in 2011-12, including a victory over SSU in the first round of the CCAA Championship Tournament.  UCSD eventually went on to lose in the finals of the NCAA Division II West Regional Tournament to No. 8 Alaska Anchorage.

SEAWOLVES' NOTES:  Taylor Vigil is averaging an even 9.0 points per game to lead the Seawolves in scoring, however, Bronte Sheahan and Travis Newman are hot on her heals, averaging 7.4 and 7.0, respectively.  Alysa Ito has totaled 53 assists, needing just 11 more to match last seasons total of 64.  Sonoma State's last win over UC San Diego was in a 58-41 victory on Jan. 4, 2008, a home game that was played in Santa Rosa.  The Seawolves will look to avoid their first eight-game slide since they started the 2004-05 season with a record of 0-8.
