Hummel, Stansfield Help Seawolves Double Up On Azusa Pacific

Brittny Hummel scored three goals in Friday's 14-7 win over Azusa Pacific.
ROHNERT PARK, Calif.  --  Sonoma State found the net a season-high 14 times on Friday afternoon as they cruised to a 14-7 win over Azusa Pacific at Ed Rudloff Pool in Rohnert Park.  The Seawolves got three goals from both Brittny Hummel and Jessica Stansfield as they won for the third time in their last four outings.  Sonoma's record bumps up to 6-9 on the season while Azusa Pacific falls to 2-11.

The Seawolves scored the first four goals of the game and led 5-1 after one.  The lead would be pushed to 7-2 at the half and then to 10-2 before the Cougar offense found any sort of chemistry.  Sonoma had an 11-4 lead after three periods and the teams played even (3-3) in the fourth.

Ariel Lockshaw had a nice game in the cage, deflecting ten shots and keeping the Cougars at bay long enough for her teammates to build up a sizable advantage.

In addition to Stansfield and Hummel's big games, the Seawolves got goals from Colette Reid (2), Adrienne Bisharat, Laura Kunz, Kaysie Lewis, Sally Aster, Nicole Browning, and Noelle Herrera.

Stansfield's three goals put her at 15 for the season.  She's now tied with Herrera and Reid for team-high honors on a roster that has shown the ability to spread the scoring around.  Seven Seawolves have scored at least 10 goals this season.

The Seawolves return to action on March 2nd when they take on WWPA foe Colorado State in Davis.
