ROHNERT PARK --
Noelle Herrera caged three balls and Adrienne Bisharat added two as the Sonoma State women's water polo team cruised to a 13-7 victory over Fresno Pacific on Friday evening at Rudloff Pool.  The Seawolves, who knocked off WWPA-rival Cal State East Bay 13-8 earlier in the day, improved to 8-11 this season.  The Sunbirds fall to just 1-15.

While it was Fresno Pacific to strike first on a goal by Jennifer Cobb, it would be Sonoma State to throw the next several punches, scoring five unanswered goals to take a 5-1 lead.  The Sunbirds would score just before the first quarter buzzer, but would trail 5-2.  Two more balls would fly into the cage for the Seawolves before halftime to take a 7-3 lead at the intermission.

The Sonoma State lead would eventually reach eight goals at 11-3 before Fresno Pacific ended its scoring draught with a goal at the 2:25 mark of the third period to cut SSU's lead to 11-4.  Another goal by FPU at the end of the period got the visitors to within six goals at 11-5, but that would be as close as the Sunbirds would get.

While Herrera and Bisharat combined to net five of the 13 goals on the day for Sonoma, eight other Seawolves got in on the scoring party, each with one goal, including scores by Laura Kunz, Natalie Del Carlo, birthday girl Sally Aster, Alexa May, Brittny Hummel, Jessica Stansfield, Lindsay Rangel and Jessica Becker.

Lockshaw added to her all-time saves record with seven stops on Friday evening.  Kayley Kemp also saw some action in the cage for the Seawolves, making five saves in the final eight minutes of regulation.

Sonoma State will head south to Los Angeles next weekend to compete in the Loyola Marymount Invitational at Burns Aquatics Center.  The Seawolves kick off the invite against host LMU on Friday at 11:30 a.m.
