Cal State East Bay starting pitcher Sean Becker (3-1) pitched a consistent eight innings, allowing eight hits while striking out two, en route to his third win of the season, while sporting a 1.69 ERA.  While Sonoma State produced eight hits, they were unable to bring any home as only three base runners where able to advance passed first base, falling 2-0 to the hosts.

The Pioneers recorded their first run in the third inning on a groundout to second base by Eren Miravalles that drove in Andrew Rodriguez, giving CSUEB a 1-0 lead.  Run number two came in the fourth inning, this time in the fourth inning by way of a sacrifice fly to right field of the bat of Cory Hearne, allowing Kyle Zozaya to cross the plate from third.  The Seawolves threatened in the eighth inning when Jackson Stogner singled, and then advanced two bags to third base on a Marcus Kimura single into right field.  However, a strikeout and a pop fly followed, ending the inning with two stranded.

Sonoma State starter Ian Ocon pitched for three and one-third innings, allowing just two runs on six hits.  Ocon was relieved by George Asmus and proceeded to strikeout two batters while giving up four hits and zero runs.  Becker was relieved in the ninth inning by Matt Fontaine who, in Friday's game one, earned his first save of the season.  In the ninth, Fontaine allowed one hit, but struck out two Seawolves to seal the 2-0 win for the Pioneers in game one.
