FINAL RESULTS
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Sonoma State senior
Spencer Heller closed the book on her brilliant career on Saturday afternoon with a 23rd place finish at the 2013 NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship at the LPGA International Legends Course in Daytona Beach. Heller's performance was capped by the announcement that she was named to the NGCA Division II All-America team for the fourth time. She becomes just the third student-athlete in school history to be a four-time All-American.
Heller closed out play at the championship with a 6-over 78. Her four-round score of 78-77-73-78--306 left her 15 strokes off the individual medalist, Nancy Vergara of Barry.
Heller will leave the school as the holder of nearly every record imaginable. Her career win-loss percentage neared 90% and she was an individual medalist seven times. In 50 career tournaments, she finished in the Top-10 40 times, and the Top-5 25 times.
She was an Honorable Mention All-America pick as a freshman and sophomore, a First Team pick as a junior, and a Second Team pick this year.
She joins Patrick Bauer (men's golf) and Melissa Costa (women's track & field) as the only four-time All-Americans in Sonoma State history.
