ROHNERT PARK -- Led by the 11 kills off the hands of
Madelyn Densberger and
Regan Richert, the 24th-ranked Sonoma State Seawolves rolled past the previously-unbeaten Hawaii Pacific Sea Warriors in three sets to end day one of the 2013 Seawolf Spike.  The Seawolves rise to 5-1 this season heading into Saturday afternoon's battle with 12th-ranked Western Washington, which is set for 1:30 pm in The Wolves' Den.  Hawaii Pacific fell to 5-1.
Densberger, Richert and
Kelsey Hull accounted for 32 of SSU's 47 kills on the night as the team hit .262.
Nicole Gragnola led the backline with 22 digs while Hull and
Hayley Ross also had double-digit digs in the victory with 12 and 10, respectively.
For Hawaii Pacific, Pomai Recca led all players with 14 kills, but she would be the only Sea Warrior with more than six slams to the floor.  The SSU defense held HPU to just .109 hitting.
Sonoma State now heads into battle with No. 12 Western Washington, which will go into Saturday's tilt undefeated at 6-0 on the year.  First serve is scheduled for 1:30 pm, amidst the day two action of the Seawolf Spike on the SSU campus.
