#24 Seawolves Dominate In Home Opener At Seawolf Spike

Madelyn Densberger amassed for nine kills and hit .471 with just one error in 17 swings and Caylie Seitz added nine other kills as 24th-ranked Sonoma State cruised past Dominican in the Seawolves' home opener on Friday, 3-0, as part of the two-day Seawolf Spike in Rohnert Park.  The Seawolves, who are 4-1 to open the 2013 campaign, will face undefeated Hawaii Pacific (5-0) tonight at 7:00 pm in The Wolves' Den.

Sonoma State didn't allow Dominican to score more than 14 points on Friday afternoon, en route to set scores of 25-13, 25-14 and 25-14.  Densberger, Seitz and Kelsey Hull combined to record 26 of SSU's 39 kills while Nicole Gragnola and Hayley Ross added double-digit digs (14 and 10, respectively) in the all-around effort.  As a team, Sonoma hit at a season-high .314 clip, erring just seven times in 102 attacks.

Hull, who had eight kills against Dominican, didn't commit a hitting error once in 25 attempts for a .320 hitting percentage.  Regan Richert had six kills and Ashley Robinson had five.

Sonoma State will play its second game of the day at 7:00 pm when it takes on Hawaii Pacific (5-0) at The Wolves' Den.
