DENVER, Colo. -- Sonoma State University senior
Brandon Lee fired an even-par 72 in the opening round of the 2016 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships on Tuesday at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club in Denver, Colo., and will enter Wednesday's round tied for 26th with eight other golfers.
He currently sits seven shots behind individual leader Hugo Bernard of St. Leo, who shot a seven-under-par 65, two shots better than second-place Freddy Braun of Wilmington-DE.

Lee got off to a rough start, rolling in a double bogey on the par-4 first hole before recording par on his next two holes. He would then birdie five of the next nine holes, mixing in a couple of bogeys to go one-under after 12 holes. Four consecutive pars were then followed by another bogey on the par-3 17th before finishing the day with a par on the 18th hole to end the day at even par.
Lee is scheduled to tee off in the second round on Wednesday at 7:36 am Pacific Time, beginning at the 10th hole. The 54-hole event will then commence on Thursday.
