ROHNERT PARK -- Carleigh Robinson scored with 38 seconds left in the third quarter to knot the game up at 8-8, and after surrendering two goals, Nicole Groat pulled the team to within one score with six minutes left in the game, but the Sonoma State women's water polo team couldn't corral No. 20 Harvard in the end, falling 13-10 on Sunday morning at the Dr. G. Edward Rudloff Pool in Rohnert Park.  The Seawolves fell to 6-15 overall while the Crimson improved to 6-6.

The Seawolves played the Ivy League school very close for the entire 32 minutes, holding leads of 5-3 in the second period and 6-5 in the third, but the NCAA Division I Harvard squad rallied at the end.

Harvard only led for five of the first 20 minutes of game time, then took the lead for good on a goal with six seconds left in the third quarter.  Groat threw one in at the 6:20 mark of the fourth quarter to pull SSU within one at 10-9, but Harvard flexed its muscle and scored the next three goals to put the game out of reach.

Groat ended the day with four goals and one assist while Robinson, Lyndsie Williams and Cassidy Mundt recorded two goals apiece.  Lily Carlon assisted on three goals and made two steals.  Taylor Plorin made nine saves and stole the ball twice in the loss.

Sonoma State will return to action on March 26th for its first conference game of the year, going up against UC San Diego at Sacred Heart Prep in Atherton, Calif.
