ATHERTON, Calif. -- Carleigh Robinson scored an early goal to break the scoreless tie, but the Sonoma State women's water polo team surrendered eight unanswered goals over the next 16 minutes of game time and could not recover in losing 13-4 to No. 19 UC San Diego on Sunday evening at Sacred Heart Prep in Atherton. The Seawolves fell to 6-16 overall and the Tritons improved to 13-12.
Robinson went on to lead Sonoma with two goals while
Lyndsie Williams and
Nicole Groat each had one goal.
Sonoma State will head to Hayward on Friday to face WWPA-foe Cal State East Bay. First sprint from Pioneer Pool is set for 1:00 pm.
