FINAL RESULTS
SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- Sabrina Virtusio scored her fourth Top 10 finish of the 2017-18 campaign, taking sixth place out of 80 competitors with an eight-over-par 152 at this week's PLNU Reach 2018 at Riverwalk Golf Course in San Diego, leading the Sonoma State women's golf team to third place in the 36-hole event.
Virtusio scored rounds of 74 and 78 to end the week six strokes back of individual co-medalists Jaime Jacob of Cal State San Marcos and Katie Ford of Dixie State, both with scores of 146 (+2). Also for Sonoma,
Julia Peters tied for 20th with a 83-76=159 (+15),
Cristina Picariello placed 24th with a 79-82=161 (+17),
Jasmine Monas tied for 27th with a 86-77=163 (+19) and
Lexi Nielsen tied for 35th with a 82-84=166 (+22).
As a team, SSU recorded a 631 (+55) for the week, 31 shots back of team champion Cal State San Marcos (600; +24) and 28 shots back of runner-up California Baptist (603; +27).
Sonoma State returns to action next Monday and Tuesday at the Mikuni Sushi Shootout in Rocklin.
