FINAL RESULTS
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – Due to unplayable course conditions at Poppy Hills Golf Course, caused by steady light rain throughout the day Tuesday, the second round of the 2018 Otter Invitational was cancelled this afternoon.
Despite a few teams finishing the day—and all teams completing at least 12 holes—none of the scores from Tuesday's rounds could be counted as the teams did not all start from the same hole. Tee times were set on holes 1 and 10, so instead the tournament officially became an 18-hole event.
Sabrina Virtusio, who paced the Seawolves with an 72-stroke performance, finished one-over-par, earning a spot on the five-player all-tournament team. Virtusio's efforts proved strong enough for a tie of third-place and pushed Sonoma State to 12th in the team standings.
Samantha Oliva tied for 41st (78, +7), Christina Picariello tied for 72nd (81, +10), Jasmin Monas tied for 89th (83, +12), and
Lexi Nielsen tied for 99th (86, +15) in the rain-shortened tournament.
Sonoma State will return home to Rohnert Park April 2-3, to host the Sonoma State Spring Invitational at Foxtail Golf Club, which marks the Seawolves' final regular season tournament this year.
