2018 California Collegiate Athletic Association Softball All-Conference Team
SAN RAMON, Calif. – Sonoma State Softball players
Karly Macadangdang and
Brigid Ruiz were selected to the 2018 California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Softball All-Conference Team, it was announced by the conference office Friday.
Macadangdang was named First Team All-CCAA on the back of a season which saw the Seawolf first baseman hit .340/.440/.518 with 5 home runs and 24 RBI. The native of Mililani, Hawaii, who started and played in every game this season, led her team in batting, on base percentage walks (17) and stolen bases (18), while ranking second on the team in runs (28), hits (48), slugging percentage. This marks the first baseman's second All-Conference selection and her first First Team nomination.
Another senior,
Brigid Ruiz earns a Second Team All-CCAA nomination as an At-Large selection for her pitching efforts in 2018. Ruiz ranked Top 10 in conference and led her team in numerous pitching stats this season. The senior pitcher went 11-9 this season with a 2.36 ERA and 11 complete games over her 133.2 innings of work. She held opposing batters to a .255 average, while also collecting two saves on the season. This marks her second All-Conference selection.
Sonoma State wrapped up the 2018 season last week with a 27-22 overall record and 19-17 against CCAA teams, good for a fifth place finish in the league standings.
